Warning: Several Canon 580ex II flash units have come in for repair after customers connected their Quantum battery pack to the Canon 580ex II flash.

Customers are reporting that they heard a loud POP when connecting their Quantum battery pack to the Canon 580ex II flash and we found burning and circuit damage to the flash.

Canon does not offer warranty repairs for equipment damaged by NON-Canon products and customers must pay for the repair. If the customer uses the Quantum and damages the flash again after repair, the repair warranty will also be void.
