This will produce a ERR message on the LCD display and reders the camera inoperative until you turn off the camera and power on again. This has been confirmed as a shutter malfuction due to dirty magnets in the shutter unit. Cameras with this shutter failure can be serviced at you local Nikon Authorized service Center.
