Canon 40D firmware update corrects fault in Canon 40D camera

Canon 40D firmware update corrects problems when mounting IS lenses on Canon 40D
The Canon 40D has a glitch when used with Image Stablized lenses.  As such, Canon has provided a firmware update version 1.0.8 that will correct this problem. The error occurs when mounting IS (image stablized) lenses and a chatter sound can be heard. Also, Canon 40D customers with heavy shutter usage and thus high shutter count can expect the shutter to fail and service will be required. The shutter can fail under normal operation on cameras with high usage and high shutter count. This is normal and can be easily corrected by Southern Photo Technical Service in Miami, Florida, the flagship Canon Authorized Service Center. A sales slip is required for all warranty repairs and free estimates are available on this page, or the SPTS official web site at http://www.sp-ts.com or by calling TOLL FREE, (866) RUSH-FIX.
