The Canon 40D provides outstanding images and is perfect for the mid-level Canon DSLR user. However, the Canon 40D has a glitch when used with Image Stablized lenses and Canon has provided a firmware update version 1.0.8 that will correct the problem. Canon 40D customers wtih heavy shutter usage and high shutter count can expect the shutter to fail and service will be required. The shutter can fail under normall operation on cameras with high usage and high shutter count. This is normal and can be easily corrected by Southern Photo Technical Service in Miami Florida, the flagship Canon Authorized Service Center.
