Sony CCD failure under service advisory.
Due to manufacturing problems, a large volume of CCD sensors manufactured by Sony can fail due to heat and humidity. Sony as issued a service advisory that lists all Sony models that are subject to failure, and Sony will repair it at no charge if no sand, water, impcat or other customer damage has occured. Visit Sony's web site for more details and a list of camera models affected.
